Her name is Janet, the homeless woman who sleeps in front. She changed my life today and I know I changed hers. This is humbling, so very humbling. Spirit is so good, spirit is love, spirit is not about catering to people's whims, spirit is about helping women like Janet get the help they are looking for. She told me her dream before she became homeless was to open a homeless shelter and "put them to work" "so they can have dignity" I've seen her 2-3 times a day for the past several weeks and she's never looked at me, until today.

She saw me taking pictures and through slurred speech she uttered "...it's like the world ended in there, that's what it looks like. Don't you think?"

I said "Yeah actually it does. Crazy huh? It's been vacant for 5 years hasn't it? Do you know what happened?"

'I think someone got shot." she said

I sat down on her cardboard box with her because she needed me right then. 40 minutes later we were both changed forever. She said she doesn't believe in God, and that her sisters always told her that she was "the chosen one" she was born on Easter Sunday. She couldn't handle the pressure or something, she said I didn't want to believe because if she couldn't do all the way there was no point. "All or nothing" I told her that it doesn't have to be that way, that she has it all wrong. I told her she was an arrow, that God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. I told how much God loved her and she felt so bad about how far she let the alcohol take her. She didn't think she would stoop so low to eat food out of the garbage can but she did. She didn't want to live like that anymore but she can't stop drinking. I gave her some tools to help her. I told her that her job right now is to find her light again and to love herself.

I explained that to get there, the very first step is to forgive herself COMPLETELY. For everything and to not dwell on it. I told her to acknowledge it, accept her role in it and to forgive herself for it. I told her, everyday she just needs to remember how beautiful she is. How much God loves her and wants her back. I told her that she is ready and that God sent me to her. I told her that I was taking her with me in my vision for WTF. Her daughter's name is Katelyn too! I sat with her for 40 minutes at 30 minutes I told her that I do have to go back to work so I don't get in trouble. At 40 minutes she told me "Go back to work beautiful, so you don't get in trouble." I told her that the next time I see her and tell her she's beautiful to say "I know I am" Wow, what an amazing day.
